Good Morning Sistahs!

Welcome to yet another fun and wonderful Kitchen Sink Monday!  It's hard to believe the Holidays are just around the corner, and I have plenty of individual cards to make.  It has been a while since I've created an acetate card, so I decided now would be the perfect time.  I have a Secret Santa gift to get ready by Wednesday and thought this card would be perfect for the occasion.  

I used the Multi-Step Build a Garland set from a recent Kitchen Sink release.  I fell in LOVE with the gingerbread man and am so glad I finally inked him up!  I stamped the image out of order, and LOVE how he came out.

Step 1: More Mustard

The More Mustard gives him that nice warm color without being too yellow.  Once I stamped him, I decided he needed some "frosting" so I used liquid applique to create the piped frosting feel on his arms, legs, and smile.  What gingerbread man would be complete without a little bling for his "gumdrop buttons" and eyes?  Finally I stamped "Season's Greetings" on the inside and now it's ready for my Secret Santa.  What do you think?  Do you likey?

Kitchen Sink Crew Challenge with Maria!

Good Morning Sistahs!

 It's that time of month again...yep time for the Kitchen Sink Crew Challenge!  This month our hostess with the mostess is the Queen of the Kitchen herself...Maria!  (*insert applause and cheers!) Before we get on with the challenge, make sure you check out the New Release for December; A Year of Thanks II.

Wrap it, Bag it or Tag it!

You get to choose how you wrap your gift.  I decided to give the gift of M&Ms by creating a Box in a Bag.

Bombshell Hump Day Hop Round 13

Good Morning Sistahs!

It's December!! I love December!!  Why you ask?  Well, because it's my birthday month, so it's got to be special right?  Well, not only is it soon to be my birthday, but it also means that it's time to welcome this month's pinup for Bombshell Stamps.  Please help me give a warm welcome to Ms. December - Erika!! (*insert applause and cheers!)

This also means it's time for her challenge, and boy was this one fun?

Naughty or Nice?

"Santa Baby, just slip a sable under the tree....for me.

So hurry down the chimney tonight."

Ready to be "Awfully Good?"  Santa is looking over his list to see who is naughty and who is nice.  So let's send him our best project expressing which list we should be on.

For this creation I used Cherry Bomb and the Holiday Accessory set.

 I have been wanting to make this card for a while now.  The minute I saw those presents, I just KNEW there needed to be a Bombshell behind them.  I also couldn't decide whether or not I have been Naughty or Nice, I think it's all in the eyes of the beholder. *giggle  Because I firmly believe that being bad, can be awfully good. *wink

I used some sparkly red glitter paper and surprisingly found a black sparkly paper too.  After I colored my bombshell in with my Copics, I added glitter to the presents and her hat.  She's uber sparkly!!

Cyber Monday with Kitchen Sink

Good Morning Sistahs, 

I hope each and every one of you had a beautiful and wonderful Thanksgiving.  I know that I'm still recuperating from the Turkey.  *ahhhhhhhh  

Before I get carried away with my project for today, I want to make sure everyone wishes Connie a very Happy Birthday!  It is such an honor to have the opportunity to work with her and I wish her a very happy year to come.

Now...on with the show.  I decided to use the Multi Step Hanukkah set to create this week's card.

It's a little hard to tell, but the dreidel on the far right is popped up to add just a touch of dimension.  I had so much fun playing with all the different color combinations, and I'm ever so happy that I decided to stick with the blue. What do you think?

Bombshell Hump Day Hop Round 12

I am so stinkin' excited to share this week's Hump Day Hop challenge with you:

She's Mighty Mighty

This week's challenge is a technique challenge!  Let it all hang out with the BRICK WALL technique.  These Bombshells are definitely "stacked" so pick your favorite image and turn it into a brick masterpiece.

Here's my take on the challenge using the "Mi Amor" set from the sugar skull collection.

 

What do you think?  I decided that I was only going to color the roses in her hair and her eyes.  I am really digging this technique.

Is it just me, or did Thanksgiving sneak up on everyone?  Geez!  It feels like we were just Trick-or-Treating and now it's time for some Turkey Love. *giggle  Well, alas, I have no turkey, but I do have a fun card to share with you today.

 

In the Multi-Step Christmas Lights set there's a little lightbulb that I used to create this wreath.  Then I stamped the bow from the Multi-Step Build A Garland set.

Good Morning Sistahs!

It's going to be a quick post today because I'm up to my ears in paperwork for school.  Grrrrrr.  Here's this week's Challenge:

Who's Got The Button?

They hold up our pants, keep our shirts closed, and yes, they even add a little extra something to our cards.  This week's challenge is to used buttons: shell buttons, faux buttons, sparkly buttons, panic buttons, (*wink) or any other type of button you please.  The more buttons the merrier!

Here's my take on the challenge:

She's lookin' a little sassy isn't she? *giggle  I used Butterfly Queen as my inspiration for this card.  I love her darker skin tone.  (Note to self, try this one again.)

Kitchen Sink Monday!

It's Monday Morning again, and I'm so stinkin' excited to share another Kitchen Sink creation with you. I loved last week's present card, and it just so happens that I needed a birthday card this week. So...I used the Multi-step Gift set to show the versatility the present provides.

 

The present was stamped as follows:

Step 1: Pink Pirouette
Step 2: Pretty in Pink
Step 3: PTI: Pure Poppy
Step 4: Riding Hood Red
I added Step 5 by going over it all again using Step 2 again with Pure Poppy stamped off.

For the ribbon:
Step 1: Soft Sky
Step 2: Bashful Blue
Step 3: Brilliant Blue
Step 4: Pacific Point
I again added a Step 5 by using Step 2 again with Brilliant Blue stamped off.

Bombshell Hump Day Hop Round 10

Good Morning Sistahs!

Don't you just love Hump Day?  There's nothin' like some good hoppin' to get you over the hump and ready for the weekend.  This week's challenge was harder for me than I thought it was going to be. Grrrr.  But, if it were easy, it couldn't be called a challenge right?  

SINGLE LADIES

Nope, not Beyonce style...I mean layers.  You've got it, this week's challenge is to make a card using only the card base; one layer.  Use stencils, airbrush, drawings and the like; add anything that tickles your fancy except more paper.  Why should layers have all the fun?

Here's my take on the challenge using the Hawaiian Girl set:

 

I had to fight every urge I had to not add layers!  I wanted to pop the turtle up, but...that would mean more paper, which means....another layer.  I wanted to pop up the oyster, but again that would mean an extra layer.  Hmph!  So instead I chose to use my old stand by embellishment; Glossy Accents.  Woo Hoo! It didn't add as much depth as I would have liked, but it definitely made things pop. Here's a close up:

 

See how just a little bit of gloss creates another dimension of fabulousness?  (That's a technical term by the way. *giggle)  Once I was done, I waited for everything to dry then added the Glimmer Mist to give the water a sparkly texture.
